I was first introduced to this Creamy Jalapeno Dip by my friend Tara who declared it the “best dip ever”. I was skeptical until I tried it, but in the end couldn’t disagree with her. It was totally addictive. Unfortunately we don’t have a Chuy’s in Canada so when she came to visit me, I decided to try and recreate it for her. I was sort of successful, this Creamy Jalapeno Dip isn’t the same as Chuy’s, I actually think it’s better. The hardcore Chuy’s fans might disagree with me though.
As with anything, I think fresh is best, so fresh jalapenos and green chiles were the only option for me. However, feel free to tried pickled jalapenos and green chiles (such as Old El Paso) but don’t bother with the salt.
Since I first tried this in Florida, I’m filing it under Food from My Travels, even though it should be filed under Highly Addictive Substance.
Creamy Jalapeno Dip
1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup sour cream
1/3 cup buttermilk
3-4 green chiles, chopped coarsely, seeds removed
2-4 jalapenos, chopped coarsely seeds removed
Handful of cilantro
Handful of fresh basil
1 packet Dry ranch seasoning mix
Salt to taste
Place all ingredients in food processor and process on high until all ingredients are minced well. Serve with nachos or fresh vegetables.

Oh! Chuy’s! We use to go to Chuy’s in Austin! Soooo good!
I’ll give this dip a try! It sounds great! When we went to Chuy’s we were all about the guacamole! *swoons*

Aw. Of course! I think it’s nice to know that the things we do actually get read and used and appreciated.
You’re the best, actually. 🙂
