If you could pack up your home and take it anywhere for the weekend where would you go?
For my family, that’s easy. Lake George in the heart of the Adirondacks is far enough away to make it feel like we’ve really travelled and close enough to allow us to get a relaxing long weekend out of it. There are loads of accommodations for RVers to choose from in the Lake George area, but for us, nothing compares to Lake George RV Park.
Lake George RV Park has been around for 48 years and is one of the United States’ best family campgrounds. It’s not the history though that calls us back but the vibe. Nestled in 120 acres of what can best be described as 50 Shades of Green, Lake George RV Park could have never done another thing and people would have flocked here for the natural beauty. They didn’t stop though and it’s now the kind of place you come where you pull out your kids bikes out and set them loose without a care in the world. Trails abound in this park along with a playhouse, two pools, fishing ponds, paddle boats, a nature awareness area, tennis courts, arcades, a cinema and a Bark Park. There is so much to do here there is no reason to leave the park, but you will want to.
Just outside the RV park are countless activities in and around Lake George to keep your family amused for at the very least a weekend and at most, for years and years of visits to come. There’s also, *ahem*, outlet shopping, which always helps me make my argument to my RVing allergic friends that yes indeed you can have it all—pristine natural beauty and great shopping.
Which brings me back to my original question, if you could take your home anywhere for a weekend (or longer) where would you take it?
Because make no mistake, when you are RVing that’s exactly what you’re doing. Ask most RVers what they love about this lifestyle and you’ll no doubt hear about the call of the open road and the fun locations they’ve visited, but dig a little deeper and you’ll hear how there’s nothing quite like slipping into your own bed at the end of the night, or having your morning coffee in your favourite mug. I’m convinced that it’s the ability to bring home with them that sets them free to explore far and wide. Need more proof on why you might love this lifestyle too, then check out Why Go RVing?
There are certain places we visit that always make me breathe a big sigh of relief when we arrive. Lake George RV Park is one, Fort Wilderness and Boyd’s are two other notables. You know that feeling you get when you arrive home after a vacation? The one where you sigh and say there’s no place like home? That’s the feeling these places illicit from me and that’s just at the start of our holiday, try getting me out of there a week later. There are so many places we haven’t seen though and I love exploring the options on the Go RVing website. We’re currently talking about the mother of all road trips, a trip to the Grand Canyon. I can hardly wait to do that journey some day and I know one thing for sure when I’m RVing.
Wherever I roam, I’m home. Hey, I think I’m gonna get that on a plaque.

We like camping in Lake George, such a nice area. We have been camping for years and one of our best trip was to camp all across USA and part of Canada for couple months. My kids still like to come with us when they have free time. Thanks for the links I am following them now!
